  A Personal Journey of Empowerment

 Melissa's passion for problem-solving and empowering women stems from her early life growing up in a third-world country, where she often found herself waiting for her turn. As the last-born girl in a family of six, with four brothers, she was always told, “Let the boys go first,” “Give them the toy first,” or “let them get the allowance first.” As a young girl, she was taught to always let the boys have the first of everything. This deeply ingrained sense of inequality made her feel that she was constantly second in line. However, Melissa always knew she was capable of much more than she was led to believe. 

Despite the societal and familial pressures, she harbored a belief that she could do better. It took her a decade, and the painful loss of her mother, to realize that time was slipping away. She understood that the world would never wait for her, and neither should she. Determined to stop waiting for her "turn," Melissa made the bold decision to resign from her stable job and return to Kenya to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams. But the journey wasn’t without its challenges. As soon as she set out on her path, imposter syndrome crept in, However this time she decided to use the fear as fuel.

 Sparked with a fire to change the story in Africa, she began her journey, knowing that taking action was the only way to make a meaningful difference in the world. 

Melissa’s story is a testament to resilience, the power of self-belief, and the courage to face uncertainty head-on.
